No one, be they Hobbit or even Elf, could remain hidden from a wizard, especially one of Gandalf’s power. The morning after their return from Mordor Legolas walked the halls outside the many bedchambers of Minas Tirith. The sun had not even risen yet but the Elf was restless. He had not spoken to Laurinasilme, his best friend other than Aragorn, in a little over seventy years and now she was here, in Minas Tirith! Legolas had not gotten a chance to speak with her yesterday, but he intended to fix that oversight.
The Elf Prince stopped in his tracks when he heard a very familiar voice singing a bit farther down the hall. Legolas sprinted down the hall and came

Laurinasilme surveyed the desolate plains that surrounded Gondor. She had arrived the day after the army had left to fight Sauron at Mordor’s gates. The young Elf could have caught up with them easily but Lady Galadriel had sent her to keep an eye on things and report back to her, whether Aragorn and his companions returned victorious or not, and she could not do that if she was killed in combat.
